The required sample size for durability testing is on the rise due to increased confidence and reliability standards. This means equipment optimization is key for timely full-scope testing. There are many challenges associated with placing multiple specimens on the same test system, including:
All of these challenges need to be considered when designing a solution for high specimen count axial fatigue tests. MDT has developed fixtures to accommodate up to fifteen (15) samples per test system and we have upgraded our conditioners to allow all stations to be independently load monitored. Our high specimen count test fixtures can accommodate samples as large as a replacement heart valve and as small as a hair sized wire. This capability provides our customers the opportunity to create statistically significant durability tests with minimal expense.
